Dear Friends,
Thanks to everyone who heard our urgent plea for financial assistance to be able to help those who are in a desperate need for aid.
One such worker is a lady with cancer who must travel to Lexington each day for radiation treatments for the next few weeks. She is a mother of 3 children and single. The chemotherapy and radiation have rendered her unable to work full-time; and because of the time involved in traveling to Lexington and then receiving treatment, she is also not able to work part-time during the treatments. She is receiving some assistance from the government, but not enough to manage her essential needs. That's where we all come together to help her pay for gas and transportation for these life-saving treatments.
She is just one of many that we are now able to assist thanks to your generosity. God bless you for caring about your fellow horsemen and women. Can you spare a few dollars? If so, please visit our DONATE TO BGFC page and send in your tax deductible contribution today. It will make a difference in someone's life. Mary

Farms Charities was formed in 2003 by a group of industry leaders. The chaplaincy serves the varied needs of owners, managers, staff and their family by providing a full-time chaplain to visit Central Kentucky farms, sales grounds, racetrack, training centers, equine hospitals, transport services and other entities associated with the promotion of Thoroughbred racing.
The well-being of man and horse go hand-in-hand in the pursuit of excellence, competitiveness, integrity, and the sportsmanship of Thoroughbred racing
A FRIENDLY TOUCH
Our chaplain visits approximately 20 farms and equine businesses per week to talk with owners, managers and workers. He also spends one day per week at Keeneland visiting the backstretch. The chaplain takes sick or injured workers to the doctor; visits workers and family members who are homebound or hospitalized; conducts funerals and provides confidential counseling and bereavement services.
BGFC also provides many services to farm management such as assistance with document translation and human resources matters and often acts as a liaison to bring about harmony in the workplace.
He also covers the equine hospitals; transport companies; and training centers. Recreational activities for farm workers include competitive sports such as soccer, volleyball and baseball. Summer play-offs provide great team building opportunities and lasting friendships.
The chaplaincy does not discriminate based on race, religion, sex , or creed.
